Jessica Walsh, Neighbor

Jessica became inspired to live cleaner and reduce her carbon footprint when her brother started a green cleaning business.  She started making her own cleaning products, and began researching how chemicals were impacting her, her family, and the environment.  Over the past few years, Jessica has been slowly adopting a greener lifestyle.  

Jessica's experience as a first time CSA member at Simmons Farm in Middletown last summer was the impetus for her weekly column on local produce.  As a newbie, she often found herself puzzling over what exactly one does with a particular vegetable.  Some she had honestly never heard of!  Luckily, Jessica loves to cook, so she tackled each new vegetable as a kitchen challenge.  This year, she hopes to share some of the what she has learned while continuing to learn herself from her neighbors & readers.  Jessica lives in Newport, RI.
