Where to Find Local Warming Centers

Colder than normal temperatures and wind chills are predicted for Rhode Island through the weekend. The Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) reminds all Rhode Islanders of the following tips to stay safe during extreme cold: Althought there are no official centers in Newport, Middletown has named three locations as warming centers: The Middletown Library 700 West Main Road Hours: Monday - Thursday / 9:30am - 8:00pm Friday - Saturday / 9:30am - 5:00pm Sunday / 1:00pm - 5:00pm The Middletown Senior Center 650 Green End Avenue Hours: Monday - Friday / 9:00am - 4:00pm The Middletown Town Hall 350 East Main Road Hours: Monday - Friday / 8:00am - 4:00pm Other warming centers across Rhode Island
