Pit Bull Bites off Newport Man's Nose

The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department.

Police are still searching for a pit bull that attacked a man and bit off a piece of his nose last Saturday. The 52-year-old Newport man was walking back from Ben's Chili Dogs and had hot dogs in his hands when a pit bull attacked him, according to the police report. The attack occurred on Wheatland Boulevard. He described the dog as a “large brindle colored pit bull” weighing between 60 to 80 pounds. He said the dog suddenly appeared and he could tell it wanted his food. Before he could react, the dog lunged at him, bit him in the face and took the food. A tip of his nose was bitten off during the attack. The Newport Fire Department also responded to the incident and treated him. The man was bleeding profusely and he was transported to …

Patrick there are existing laws and they extend to all breeds. Walk them on a leach and keep them in the yard. If they get out and you know they can then common sense says you have to figure out how to control them to keep them from getting out. How about keep them in the house?
