Oliver Hazard Perry Confirms Permanent Berth at Fort Adams

Oliver Hazard Perry Rhode Island has exceeded its fundraising goals and will soon be docking at a new fixed-pier at Fort Adams State Park.

The non-profit organization Oliver Hazard Perry Rhode Island (OHPRI), which is building Rhode Island’s Official Sailing Education Vessel SSV Oliver Hazard Perry, exceeded its 2012 year-end fund raising goals thanks to the generosity of individuals and corporate supporters who helped match two challenge grants issued last September by an anonymous benefactor. Oliver Hazard Perry Getting Closer to Fundraising Goal

The organization released this fundraising update this week.

The Oliver Hazard Perry Rhode Island is proud to announce that this month it surpassed its $4 million mark in its $6.6 million goal to complete the SSV Oliver Hazard Perry. The organization launched the multi-million dollar campaign to acquire the vessel and build it out as Rhode Island’s official Education-at-Sea school ship in 2008.
