UPDATE: 300+ of Newport Customers Still Without Power

Write in the comments section if your power has been restored recently or if you are without power.

Update 3:54 p.m. Feb.10 As of 3:42 p.m., National Grid is reporting that 320 Newport customers are without power. If you still do not have power, please leave our location in the comments section.  Update 12:12 p.m. Feb. 10 National Grid has given a restoration estimate of 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, for Newport.  The outage map is currently reporting 2,152 customers still without power.  Original Report - At one point during the storm, almost all of Newport had lost power. Slowly over the course of Friday night, residents began seeing the lights turn back on. At it's peak, more than 14,000 customers did not have power in Newport. As of 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, National Grid reported that 7,807 customers still had no power. There is …

900 Newporters Still Without Power

The number of outages in Newport County has dropped to 2,720.

National Grid is reporting 915 Newport customers are still without power. They are continuing to assess the situation and have restored power to all but 2,720 customers in Newport County. As of Tuesday after noon more than 30,000 customers in Newport County were without power due to Hurricane Sandy. According to National Grid's Power Outage Map, 433 customers in Tiverton are without power, followed by 221 and 877 customers in Middletown and Portsmouth, respectively.  More than 47,000 Rhode Islanders remain without power.
