Stop Signs Cleared, Stoplight Reactivated
After several weeks of a three-way stop at the intersection by the Hotel Viking, the stoplight has been reactivated.
Drivers should use caution at the stoplight at the Hotel Viking, which has recently been cleared of stop signs that took the place of the light. For the past several weeks, there had been stop signs placed at the intersection creating a three-way stop. The signal has been reinstalled at the intersection of Touro Street, Bellevue Avenue and Kay Street as of yesterday afternoon. “It was involved in a hit and run accident so the NPD placed stop signs as a temporary measure,” Director of Public Works Bill Riccio said. The light has been restored to the previous operation before the accident occurred.
