Could this be the best “decked” house in the country? Possibly. Congratulations to Tyler Horrocks, the mastermind behind the Crazy Christmas House for being chosen as one of the 24 finalists in our Deck the House contest! According to users who voted in our annual Deck the House contest, this home in Wood Estates has the best holiday lights in town. Check out the spectacular video here. We had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and in our quest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in the country, we’ve seen everything from a larger-than-life, animated Santa to holiday lights so bright they could blind the neighbors. Two RI homes are in the running for best national light display.
Does Rhode Island have the best “decked” house in the US? Readers who voted in our annual Deck the House contest have singled out two homes, one in Coventry and one in East Greenwich, as national finalists, beating Woonsocket reader Sharon C's submission, which Woonsocket Patch readers voted the best holiday light display in Woonsocket. In Coventry, we have the Crazy Christmas House, decorated by Tyler Horrocks. Check out a spectacular video of the display here. We’re launching our annual Deck the House Contest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in America—the best “decked” house in the country—the one home so spectacularly decorated that everyone in town jokes your holiday decorations could rival Rockefeller Center’s. If this sounds like your house, upload a photo or video of your home to our contest page from Nov. 26 to Dec. 16 (Check back here next Monday for a direct link to our contest page so you can enter). Only residents of Patch towns are eligible to enter. We’ll select 24 regional finalists, and from them, pick one grand prize winner. Patch.com is launching a nationwide contest to find the best dressed home in its Patch communities, and the winner’s school district will receive $100,000, no strings attached. Here’s how the contest works. Beginning on Dec. 8 and continuing through Dec. 26, you can nominate your home by uploading a photo to the contest entry form on the site.
