The fire chief is Harry J. Hallgring, Jr. In addition to his leadership, there's also the administrative officer, who manages daily administrative operations, and the fire marshal, who's in charge of the fire prevention office.
The Marlborough Street station serves as the fire department's headquarters. Other fire stations can be found at Old Fort Road and Touro Streets.

Segal has a Masters in Ceramics and enjoys above all else his materials, high-temperature fire, and life in such a beautiful place. Materials used include buff clays and orange clays among many others, and styles used include Raku. Raku is brought to temperature in 45 minutes (as opposed to 12 hours) in a much smaller kiln. This technique gives it a porous quality and the end result is distinctly lighter and less glass-like than normal. Segal uses no lead glaze and all work for sale is done in house at 452 Thames.
