St Augustin's Church
St. Augustin's Church was established in 1911 to accommodate Newport's growing Catholic population.
Community members came together to raise funds to create St. Augustin's, and it has flourished ever since with community activities and services. The church suffered significant damage from a general alarm fire in 1957, but was able to withstand and is still going strong today.
The church offers music and liturgical ministries, along with ministries to the sick.
St. Augustin's will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2011. The priest is Reverend John McNulty.
