Kingscote is a Gothic cottage located at 253 Bellevue Avenue. Kingscote is currently managed by the preservation society and can be toured daily.
Kingscote was crucial to the history and development of Newport through the late 1800's because it paved the way for all mansions to come and also sparked their trend. Before Kingscote was built, Bellevue Avenue was only a dirt path leading up to this piece of land.
Originally owned by George Noble Jones and designed and built by architect Richard Upjohn, Kingscote has a long and interesting history that definitely makes it a place to visit.
