Rec. Department Plans Easter Weekend Activities

NOTE: Breakfast with the Easter Bunny is full. 

The Newport Recreation Department has several activities planned for Easter weekend.  On Saturday, April 19th  children and adults can have Breakfast with the Easter Bunny.  The breakfast is held at, and is sponsored by the Elks Lodge on Pelham St. in Newport.  Advanced reservations are required and can be made by calling Newport Recreation at 845-5800.  The cost is $6.00 for adults and $3.50 for children 10 and under.  Breakfast will be served from 9:00-11:00 AM.

Also on Saturday, April 19th , there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for boys and girls ages 2-7.  The hunt is held at Touro Park and begins at 10:00 AM sharp.  Boys and girls hunt for eggs to be redeemed for a prize.  This event is free thanks to our sponsors:  Miller, Scott and Holbrook, Bellevue Gardens Shopping Center, and Newport Ace Hardware.  Participants should bring their own basket or bag.

A flashlight Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Friday night, March 18th .  Boys and girls ages 8-10 are invited to participate.  The hunt is held at Freebody Park at 8:00 PM sharp, rain or shine.  Participants must bring their own flashlight, a 2 "D" cell size or smaller, and a bag or basket.  The hunt is free.
