IN PHOTOS: The Stars Shine for the Edward King House at Annual Fundraiser

A veritable "Who's Who" of Newport and Middletown EKH supporters braved the cold winds to attend this year's Annual Cocktail Party to support the Edward King House Senior Center.

With the sounds of Gershwin and Cole Porter emanating through air from the hands of Hugo D'Ascentis on the lower level baby grand piano to the cheers of guests as the trays of delights from area restaurants were served, the manor was energized from entrance to exit.

All proceeds from this event, sponsored by the People's Credit Union, went to benefit the Edward King House Senior Center and the services and programs provided to Newport County Seniors age 50 and up.  For over 45 years The Edward King House Senior Center has served a vital role in the community by meeting the ever-changing needs of the senior population.  Through its diverse variety of classes, programming, performances and club activities we offer seniors age fifty and older the ability to remain active.

"This event was a "coming party" of sorts for me as I was met with supporters and members who believe in our mission and encourage our constant growth," explained Carmela Geer, Executive Director of the Center, "Every where I looked I saw an old friend or met a new one."

The EKH Board of Directors would like to thank the many local merchants and supporters who made it all possible:
