Patch Editor to Make Splash at Night Out Against Crime

The National Night out Against Crime is August 1,2013

Do you wish to witness a Patch editor dunked?  Well, mark your calendar.  

The twelfth annual Newport Police National Night Out Against Crime is Thursday, August 1. Activities include child identification kits, bike safety, child safety seat inspections and of course a dunk tank — featuring local politicians, members of law enforcement and our own Newport Patch editor Olga Enger.

“While the one night is certainly not an answer to crime, drugs and violence, Night Out does represent the kind of spirit, energy and determination that is helping to make many neighborhoods safer places throughout the year,” said Newport Officer Robert Spellman.  

The event will be held at Easton’s Beach from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
