Newport Students to Participate in Holiday Events Throughout December

Students will participate in many holiday events to spread cheer throughout December.

Tis' the season!  Newport public school students will spread holiday cheer this season through participation in events throughout the month of December.


• December 1 - Tree Lighting at Washington Square- Thompson Middle School and Elementary Choruses at 5:00 pm

• December 3, 5-7 pm – Annual Trim-A-Tree Exhibition of student tree decorations at the Elms

• December 8 from 1-4 pm at Sardella’s Restaurant – Nutmeg and Mistletoe  Concert featuring local and regional entertainers performing holiday favorites.  $20 per person, all proceeds to support the Matt Quinn Scholarship at Rogers High School. Tickets may be purchased at Sardellas Restaurant.

• December 6 at 5 pm – Annual Tree lighting at the Newport Harbor Center with the Cranston Calvert and Triplett Choruses

• December 12 from 5:30-7:30 – Student’s Impressions of Christmas in Newport at the Newport Yacht Club

• December 12 from 5:00-8:00 – MUSE Art Exhibit at the Newport Art Museum

• December 13-14 at 7 PM with a 12 PM matinee on Saturday – Rogers High School Theatre Company presents “A Christmas Carol”. Admission is $5 per person

• December 17 at 7:00 pm – Thompson Middle School Beginning Ensembles Concert. $5 per person, $3 students, $10 for a family of 4

• December 18 at 7:00 pm – Thompson Middle School Advanced Ensembles Concert. $5 per person, $3 students, $10 for a family of 4

• December 19 at 7 pm – Rogers High School Winter Concert. $5 per person, $3 students, $10 for a family of 4
