This week's featured home is a cozy cottage on a corner lot in The Point.

Not every featured home in Newport has to be millions of dollars.

This one, tucked neatly at 9 Cherry Street, is small at 1,080 square feet, has a small lot at 4,812 square feet, but it comes at a low price for The Point in Newport at just $650,000.

For that money, you get a corner lot, hardwood floors, two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a full basement and peace of mind that your new home is in good condition and doesn't need much work, if any.

Built in 1971, taxes will land at an estimated $4,244 per year.

If the property isn't big enough for you, you can buy the adjacent property located at 6 Guerney Court at a special price.

Bravo! Bravo! I never thought this day would come. Please behold the worst priced house in the history of Newport. $650k, 1,000 sq ft! What do you get??? A 1970's closet next to the rail road tracks. The "Point" is great, if you live near the water, or in a perfectly restored colonial, this is neither. WHY would you buy this house, when for $200k more you could get a 4,000 sq ft, brick, with yard and garage, on second street???
