Howington Reportedly a Finalist for Manager Job in Middletown, OH

The Journal-News reported that Howington is one of five finalists for the job in Middletown, Ohio.

Though she reportedly withdrew her name from consideration for the city manager job in Brunswick, Ohio, Newport City Manager Jane Howington is reportedly a finalist for a different manager job — but still in Ohio.

The Journal-News reported that Howington is one of five finalists for the job in Middletown, Ohio.

Twenty-nine applicants applied for the job and Howington will participate with her fellow five chosen finalists at a two-day session on May 16 and 17 during which they'll meet with residents at an open forum.

At the same time, the city's mayor and City Council members will be able to interview each candidate, and each candidate will tour the city and meet staff.

Howington, who earns $140,000 per year here in Newport, reportedly was interested in moving to Ohio to be close to family there.

"I spent a lot of my career in Ohio, and my husband and I are interested in coming back, as our son lives in the Cleveland area," Howington said before her interview in Brunswick, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
