How Would You Grade Newport’s Snow Plowing This Winter?

Give your praise, voice your concern and let the town know what you think about snow plowing this winter.

The past three weeks have seen one snowstorm after another barrel up the east coast and dump more snow onto the area.

Plowing snow is often a thankless job. There is rarely praise, but there are few things that raise a person’s ire more than snow-covered streets days after a snowstorm has passed.

With us now deep into February and after three weeks of snowstorms, we want to know: How would you rate Newport’s snow removal this winter?

Let us know in the comments section below. Give your praise, voice your concern and let the town know what you think about snow plowing this winter

I think they have done a great job and hope the city will continue to use the parking ban to help these guys out......its a thankless job but after this winter they all should get a bonus for above and beyond what was expected

It's never going to be perfect but I agree that they do a good job. That said, I only take main roads the first few days after snow because side streets don't get as much attention. I know it's a budgetary issue. I give em a solid B. There's still enough time to get that up to a B+ though!

I give em an A. I don't know how stressful it must be to drive a plow up a colonial side street covered in ice, where one miscalculation will cause thousands of dollars of damage to parked cars that are often parked poorly.

Good job everyone;

Newport is one of the best at plowing that I have ever seen. I only wish that they would not plow the snow up against my garage door and block me in.

Great Job! It's very difficult to plow with cars parked on the side streets. Overall the plowing crew did the best they could. I only wish the City would have ordered more salt, black ice is a very dangerous situation.

Sooo much better than Middletown or Portsmouth! I work in Portsmouth and once I leave Newport, it's hazardous with spotty, if any plowing done for hours.

Due to budgetary constraints, everyone has a salt shortage but the city of Newport has really stepped up to the plate helping these guys out by issuing parking bans in a timely manner. The drivers deserve an A all-around!
