Fort Adams State Park Closed to Swimming, Health Dept. Says

High bacteria counts has prompted a beach closure.

High bacteria counts in water samples taken from Fort Adams State Park in Newport has prompted the state Department of Health to recommended a beach closure effective immediately.

Officials will keep monitoring the water and a re-opening will be announced as soon as bacteria counts fall below minimum acceptable levels.
