Construction and Roadwork Schedule for This Week

The Department of Public Services has released a list of streets undergoing roadwork this week which may cause traffic and waste pickup delays.

The Department of Public Services announced on the City website this week that several streets will be undergoing reconstruction, curb and sidwalk work, and repaving.

The following streets will be going undergoing reconstruction, curb and sidwalk work, and repaving:

  • Hall Avenue from Warner Street to Van Zandt Avenue
  • Newport Avenue from Broadway to Warner Street

The following area will be undergoing sidwalk restoration:

  • Spring Street from Memorial Boulevard to Broadway

Construction may cause traffic delays and parking will be restricted between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Friday.

According to the Clean City Program and Waste Management, garbage and recycling collection may be delayed due to restricted access. They request that waste be left out at normal times and be left out until it is collected.

Questions or concerns on trash collection can be directed to the Clean City program at 845-5613.

why is this written up in the sense that public work is doing this work, when we pay out side contractors to do the work,Please dont give the impression that public services actually WORK LOL

The city realizes that for small business this is an important sales month. This work has to be scheduled in the middle the tourist season and restrict already terrible parking. Any planning going on ?

Gordon, I feel your pain. Road work emptied my coffee shop as soon as the jackhammering started every morning. None of this should have started until after Labor day at the very least. They just finished and they started working in June. Just sayin'.

i would to echo the sentiments as far as poor planning in terms of the tourist season. The buisnesses and the employees of these buisnesses are the ones to suffer with very little care from the town.In fact complete disregard from the town. This is what our taxes are paying for.
