Clean City Program Reminds Residents of Trash Collection Delay Due to Holiday

All trash and recycling routes will be delayed one day due to Martin Luther King, Jr., Day.

The Newport Public Services Department’s Clean City Program reminds residents that due to the Martin Luther King Day holiday on Monday, January 16, all trash and recycling routes will be delayed by one day this week.

Yard waste will not be picked up again until the spring during the week of March 19 on residents’ regular collection day. It is against city ordinance to leave items on the curb in between collections, so refrain from storing yard waste on city property before the week of March 19.

For more information about the City of Newport residential solid waste and recycling collection program, or for a copy of the 2012 solid waste & recycling calendar, contact the Clean City Program at 845-5613 or visit www.cityofnewport.com/cleancity.
