Applicants Sought for Newport Utilities Department
The application period opens in Monday, July 29.
The City of Newport is seeking a Distribution/Collection Mechanic for its water system, according to a post on the city's Facebook page.
Applications will be accepted starting Monday, July 29, and ending on Aug. 13.
Requirements for the position include overseeing the maintenance of the city's water system, managing staff, and training employees on safety procedures.
Prospective candidates must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and four years' experience in water treatment and distribution systems.
Applicants must also have a Grade 2-D and 3-D Public Water Supply Transmission & Distribution Operators Licenses; a valid driver's license; and be able to earn a CDL and Hoisting License within a year of hire.
Salary range for the post is $40,593 to $48,593.
