Woman Allegedly Cut Up Man's Jacket

The following arrests were reported by the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Newport police reported the following arrests on Tuesday, Jan. 14. 

  • Tiffany Marchese, 26, of 90 Girard Ave., Apt #157, was arrested Monday at 4:14 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and domestic vandalism. She allegedly hit a 25-year-old man and cut up his leather jacket.  

  • Jesus Melendez, 36, 8 Marcello St. Apt #1, Providence was arrested on Monday at 9:55 a.m. on a domestic assault charge. He was reportedly wanted a 24-hour pick-up by Newport police.

  • Lacey Johnson, 29, of 9 Stewart St. Apt. #B, was arrested Monday at 5:56 p.m. on charges of shoplifting and receiving stolen goods. On Sept. 26, police were dispatched to Walmart for a report of shoplifting.  Staff reported two women, Megan Pardee and Johnson, took a video game from the display, placed it on a baby carriage and hid it while in the bathroom.
