Police confirmed a reported break-in ant Ben's Chili Dogs on Broadway. The incident remains under investigation.

Newport police continue to investigate a break-in reported Monday morning at Ben's Chili Dogs, located at 158 Broadway in Newport. Police said a window was broken with a brick and cash was stolen.

Newport police confirmed they received a report of a break-in Monday morning at Ben's Chili Dogs, located at 158 Broadway in Newport. Police have not released further details as the matter is still under investigation.
Employees said police were questioning possible witnesses Monday morning.
"I was at Dunkin' Donuts around 9 a.m. this morning and the two employees were saying 'oh, there's another cop car,' said Clare Simpson-Daniel. "I turned around to look out the window and saw three cop cars and one officer talking to a man in front of Ben's," she explained.
The incident is under investigation by the Newport Police Department. Patch will provide details as they are made available.
