Theodore Oliviera, 17, and was last seen on a dinghy in Newport Harbor.
He was reported missing by his mother around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Coast Guard,, and continue to search for him.
With few updates, Oliviera's friends and family turned to social media to spread hope, prayers and kind words. What started out as the unassuming #PrayersForTeddy hashtag has turned into a full blown viral trend, with dozens of new tweets coming in per minute.

According to reports from the Boston Herald, Oliviera was with a friend and his girlfriend the night he disappeared. The two left to get gas, and when they returned to the docks, he and the dinghy were gone.
They reported he was missing to his mother the next day.
