No Victim Found After Report of Potential Jumper on Newport Bridge

Emergency crews responded to the Newport Bridge around 8:15 p.m. Saturday night

No victim was found Saturday night after crews searched on and around the Pell Bridge for a potential jumper. 

Around 8:16 p.m. a witness from the toll plaza reported a driver went through the tolls and jumped off the bridge. Newport, North Kingstown and Jamestown Fire Departments responded, along with the Newport Harbormaster and the U.S. Coast Guard to assist in the search.

After searching for three hours, no victim was found and the search was concluded.
