A Newport woman and a Pawtucket man were arrested in Middletown on Friday, Aug. 30 around 11:20 p.m. after police found heroin, bath salts and syringes in a car.

Ashley St. Onge, of 76 Broadway Apt. 515, Newport was charged with a felony possession of narcotics. She also had an active bench warrant out of the Second District Court. Scott Evanchof, 30, of 34 Delta Drive, Pawtucket, was charged with a felony possession of narcotics.

Middletown police pulled over a car on West Main Road for swerving across the road. Police said the driver allegedly told police there was marijuana underneath the glove box in a hidden compartment after he was asked about the smell.  Police found both used and unused syringes, burnt tin foil and a spoon with Heroin on it.  They did not find marijuana in the hidden compartment.

St. Onge allegedly told police the syringe was loaded with bath salts and her blood. Evanchof allegedly told police he owned the spoon and Heroin.
