Newport Police Log: Woman Arrested on Reckless Driving, Drug Charges
The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Beulah M. Earle, 38, of 16 North Dudley Ave., Middletown, was arrested around 2:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, for reckless driving, possession of marijuana, and driving in possession of a controlled substance charges.
While in the Festival Field parking lot, police heard a revving engine and spinning tires. A blue Durango spun around the corner as someone yelled “She almost ran us over!” reports said.
Police pulled Earle over, who said she had been spinning because of the snow. Reports said the officer found the drugs during a search after smelling marijuana in the car.
