Anthony T. Bang, 22, of 181 Allston Ave., Middletown, and a 17-year-old Middletown boy were arrested on vandalism charges. Bang was also arrested for two active warrants for failure to appear in court.
The two were arrested when police caught them spray painting graffiti on The Bells at Brenton Point.
Bang told police he and the other boy had come to that area to spray paint because they did not want to destroy anything in the visible Newport area and thought no one would see it.
Police reports said it appeared that graffiti activity had been going on for some time.
