Newport Police Log: Vandalized Lap Top; Warrant Arrest

The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Alexandra D. Pereira, 24, of Milford, CT, was arrested around 12:49 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, for a domestic vandalism charge.

The man who reported the incident told police that he and Pereira had gotten into an argument and that she had broken his laptop.

According to reports, Pereira admitted to throwing and breaking his laptop because she did not want him to leave and drive drunk.

Pereira said “his whole life was on the computer” and that she didn’t think he would leave without it. 

Warrant arrest

Sandra J. Leclaire, 50, of an unknown address, was arrested around 7:43 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, for two active warrants.

Police were dispatched to Pond Avenue for a report of a man and woman fighting.

Leclaire was stopped nearby with another man. The two said they had not been fighting and had just been going for a walk.

Dispatch came back with two active warrants for failure to appear in court for Leclaire.
