Newport Police Log: Two Women Arrested for Fighting, Warrant Arrest
The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Katherine T. Woodlen, 32, of 233 Park Holm, Newport, and Lanita C. Hazard, 31, of 144 Van Zandt Ave., Newport, were arrested around 7:15 p.m. on Monday, June 11, for fighting charges.
Police responded to for a reported fight between two women.
When police reviewed surveillance video, they were unable to see who started the fight, but saw the two women were fighting each other. The fight was quickly broken up.

Warrant arrest
Steven R. Lufkin, 32, of 195 Admiral Kalbfus Rd., Newport, was arrested around 4 p.m. on Monday, June 11, for an active warrant for failure to appear in court with ability to pay.
