Newport Police Log: Felony Assault with Kitchen Knife

The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Teirrah Vages, 20, of Newport, was arrested around 12:48 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, for a domestic felony assault charge.

Police were dispatched to her residence for a report of a domestic assault. The victim had a minor cut on his cheek.

Reports said the man went to the house to pick up clothes when Vages attacked him and threatened him with a large kitchen knife. He also told police Vages’ dog had bit him in the ear.

The victim had puncture marks on his ear consistent with a bite and was transported to Newport Hospital for treatment.

According to reports, the victim was able to wrestle the knife away from Vages.
