Newport Police Log: Breaking and Entering, Vandalism Arrests

The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.


Alexandria M. Shellman, 23, of 90 Girard Ave., Newport, was arrested around 11:10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, for a breaking and entering charge.

Reports said Shellman had broken into a house on Ayrault Street by smashing in a window and went to sleep in one of the beds.

When police interviewed Shellman, she said she only remembered being at Fastnet, going to a man’s house and waking up in a strange bed.

Vandalism arrest

Daniel J. Labrecque, 29, of Portsmouth, was arrested around 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, for a domestic vandalism charge.

Police were dispatched for disorderly report.

According to reports, Labrecque was in an argument with his girlfriend and punched her car, denting it.

Police obtained a warrant for his arrest.
