Newport Police Log: 5 Weekend Arrests
The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Friday
William L. Freeman was arrested on Friday, Oct. 19, for domestic simple assault, violation of a no contact order and larceny under $1,500 charges. [Editor's note: This article has been changed to reflect the correct suspect. An earlier version reported the wrong person had been charged.]
Luis J. Lill, 18, of 231 Maple Ave., Newport, was arrested around 9:19 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, for shoplifting and conspiracy charges.

Ulysses T. White, 23, of 18 Grafton St., Newport, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, for shoplifting and conspiracy charges.
Miles O. White, 19, of 15 West St., Warwick, Newport, was arrested around 9:38 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, for shoplifting and conspiracy charges.

Saturday
Duncan J. Morrissey, 20, of 126 Ramapoo Rd., Ridgefield, CT, was cited around 8:51 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, for a noise violation.
