Newport Police: Kids Allegedly Throw Rocks at Pell School

The following arrests were reported by the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

  • Two 12-year-olds of Park Holm and a 13-year-old of Hillside Ave were arrested Sunday around 9:15 p.m. on charges of breaking and entering. They allegedly threw rocks at the Pell School and broke into the building.

  • Donnell Talley, 52, of 385 Cranston St. Apt. #2, was arrested on Sunday around 4:45 p.m. on five counts of larceny under $1500 and for making burglary tools. When police arrived on-scene near the Harbor View Condos, they said a witness was “bear hugging” Talley to keep him from escaping. The manager of the property said four other bikes had been recently stolen from the property. He showed police video surveillance of Talley stealing two of the bikes.

  • Wilfredo Santos, 28, of 16 Beech Tree Street, was arrested on Sunday around 4:45 p.m. on a felony drug charge and domestic simple assault. Police responded after he allegedly hit his girlfriend. At the station, police found narcotics in his pocket.

  • David Larivee, 47, of 35 Exeter Street, Nantucket MA, was arrested on Sunday around 8:40 p.m. on disorderly conduct and resisting legal arrest. Police said he was denied access into the Yachting Center because he was so drunk. Police said it was obvious he was not going to leave the area and was advised he would be arrested if he didn’t leave. He reportedly said, “go ahead and arrest me.”  He resisted and police brought him to the ground by force. An officer sprained his thumb and Larivee ended up with a few scratches, according to the police report.
