Drug Bust at Festival Field, B&E with Felony Assault

  • Edwin Toro, 46, of 90 Girard Ave., was arrested Thursday on a felony drug charge after an investigation by Newport Police Vice Unit into drug dealing at 11 Festival Field. Police found nine bags of cocaine in Toro's front pocket, totaling 10 grams, or a street value of $1,000.

  • Faith Peterson, 20, 16 Grafton Street, was arrested on Wednesday around 7:35 p.m. on after she allegedly keyed a car at Walmart. Peterson was charged with vandalism.   


  • William Perry, 30, of an unknown address in Providence, was arrested on Thursday around 9:10 p.m. for breaking and entering, a felony assault, violation of a no contact, resisting legal and threats to public officials. Perry allegedly kicked in the door at home in the Park Holm area and assaulted a 22-year-old female in front of her two young children. Perry allegedly grabbed her by her hair, dragged her around the house, slammed her to the ground and punched her in her face.  Police said she was bruised and cut, her nose appeared broken and swollen and she was missing hair.
