Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes Into Stone Wall
The following arrests were reported by the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
- Valerie Anctil Souza, of 66 Girard Ave. Apt #220, was arrested early Monday morning after she allegedly crashed into a stone wall at the Bridgeview Condominium complex. Police asked Souza to unlock the door and she allegedly responded, “I'm trying, but I don't know how." She also said she did not know how to roll down the window, reported police. She failed the field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Souza was charged with driving under the influence and cited for refusal to take a chemical test.
- Three men were arrested late Sunday night after they allegedly got into a fight outside Speakeasy bar.
