Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes into Jeeps at Dealership
The following incident was reported by the Middletown Police Department.
Jessica Lalli, 25, of 134 Harrison Ave., Newport, was arrested Tuesday evening around 5:40 p.m. on DUI charges after she allegedly lost control of her vehicle and crashed into three new Jeep Wranglers at Clare Dodge on West Main Road.
Police reported her passenger had a severe laceration near her mouth and was unable to speak before she was treated by the Middletown Fire Department. Lalli broke her leg and arm in the accident.
According to police reports, the passenger said that she was operating recklessly due to “road rage.” She also told police Lalli had been drinking but refused to let her drive.
At the hospital, police said Lalli did not remember many details of the accident. She told police she had one shot at about 11:30 that morning after her grandfather’s funeral. Lalli was charged with driving under the influence and cited for operating on a suspended license.
