Okay, so most computer savvy folks can keep track of their peeps via Facebook. But how can you effectively market your business using social media?
The Newport Interactive Marketers will meet on Thursday, Oct. 21, to hear a panel of local social media experts discuss "Social Media Secrets" with a focus on Twitter and Facebook, at Christie's Restaurant on Perry Mill Wharf off Thames Street in Newport.
The first confirmed panelist is Kathie Manchester, director of information technology at Rhode Island Blood Center, who will explain how she manages the non-profit's social media and IT department.
The meeting is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The panel discussion begins at 7 p.m. upstairs after an hour of networking downstairs in the bar area (Christie's has $5 martinis!).
The group, which began meeting in May 2010, met on Thursday, Sept. 30, to discuss search engine optimization insights presented by Doug Wilson, an SEO specialist at netsense.
Everyone is welcome: marketers, graphic designers, search engine optimization (SEO) experts, public relations specialists, web developers, writers, small business owners, college students or anyone interested in interactive marketing.
Be sure to bring a stack of business cards to place on the "Business Card Buffet" table. Register for the free event at Eventbrite.
