Obituary: Sharon Gerlach, Co-Owner of Portobello Jewelers

Sharon Gerlach, 58, of Middletown died tragically last week after she was struck by a car while crossing Bellevue Avenue in Newport

Sharon (Iannucci) Gerlach, 58, of Middletown, RI, died unexpectedly on Jan. 23, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey B. Gerlach for 25 years. Born in Providence, RI, she was the devoted daughter of Frank and Mary (Spinella) Iannucci.

Sharon was a graduate of Boston College. For 32 years, Sharon co-owned Portobello Jewelers in Newport, RI with her sister, Janet Curren.

Besides her husband, and parents, she is survived by her children, Jennifer L. Gerlach of Quincy, MA and Matthew R. Gerlach of Middletown, RI, her brother Frank Iannucci Jr. of North Providence, her sisters, Carol Parsons of Fisher Island, FL, Janet Curren of Newport, RI and Lori Sundstrom of Wyckoff, NJ, her sister-in-law Penny Bellevue of South Glens Falls, NY, and ten nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI on Tuesday, January 28 from 4-7 PM.

Funeral services will be private.
