Obituary: Patricia Silveria, 78

Patricia M (Martins) Silveria was a proud lifelong parishioner of St. Augustin's Church.

Patricia M (Martins) Silveria age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday January 24, 2014 at Forest Farm Health Care Center (Fifth Ward Annex).

Born in Newport, RI on April 23, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Manuel J. and Margaret (O’Brien) Martins. She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret (Martins) Chapman and her brother John “Jack” Martins who were both taken too early in life.

Pat was a graduate of St. Augustin’s Grammar School and St. Catherine’s Academy High School. She was a proud life long parishioner of St. Augustin’s Church. She was a long time bookkeeper at Newport Tool and Die followed by her favorite job a bookkeeper for B.R. Arnold Construction.

She was a loyal and dedicated Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She was an avid reader who enjoyed doing jig saw puzzles and playing cards with her grandchildren. Pat enjoyed bingo, bowling and loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day Parade and opening her house for all to enjoy. She lived her whole life in the good ole Fifth Ward (God’s Country) but enjoyed traveling north to spend time with her family relaxing at White Pond in NH and Miles Pond in VT.

She loved all her children, in-laws, grandchildren and great grandson with all her heart. She is survived by her children Sandra and husband Leo Mara, Peter and wife Beth (Callahan) Silveria, Robert Silveria, Sue and husband Michael Bagley, Kenneth and wife Donna (Karoli) Silveria, Melissa and husband Kelly Turner. She is also survived by grandchildren Allison (Silveria) Furtado, Rebecca Read, Mary Beth Silveria, Christina Mara, Lauren Silveria, John Silveria, Meg Turner, Andrew Silveria, Michael Turner and her great grandson Jacob Mara.

Calling hours will be Tuesday January 28, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at O’Neill-Hayes Funeral Home located at 465 Spring Street in Newport, RI 02840.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday January 29, 2014, 10:00 AM at St. Augustin’s Church located at 2 Fifth Ward Square in Newport, RI.

Burial will be held at St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown, RI 02842.
