Marguerite J. Davis, of Tiverton, RI and formerly of Newport Ave, Newport, entered into eternal life on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of the late James E. Davis, USN (Ret.). Born on July 20, 1930 in Lewiston, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Agnes (Breen) Clarke.
Marge was a Navy wife and formerly active with Fleet Reserve and CPO Wives’ Club. She was a loving homemaker, caring for her children and her beloved grandchildren. Nana loved spending time with her grandkids, whether it was playing cards or just talking over dinner.
She is survived by four children, Patricia Cottrell (James) of Tiverton, Rosemary Salisbury (James “Butch”) of Cumberland, James E. Davis of New York, NY and Karen Davis Natal (Robert). She also leaves ten grandchildren, James Davis Salisbury, Adam Davis Salisbury, Jameson Davis Cottrell, Bryan Davis Salisbury, Patrick Henry Cottrell, Brendan Davis Natal, Meaghan Davis Natal, Michaela Davis Natal, Kaitlyn Davis Natal, and Riley Davis Natal.
In celebration of her life, services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 with calling hours from 9:00-10:00am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a funeral service to be held at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown.
