Wasylean, Linda Jo, 62, of Sherman Street, Newport, RI, died on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Newport Hospital.
She was the wife of Stephen W. Wasylean.
Born in Egg Harbor, NJ on July 26, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Henry F. “George” and Dorothy (Thomas) Thery.
Mrs. Wasylean was active with the Boy Scouts of America and the Advancement Committee of the Narragansett Council.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Stephen W. Wasylean, Jr. and his wife and Jo-Anne of Newport, RI; her granddaughter, Abby Wasylean of Newport, RI; her step-mother, Shirley Thery of New Jersey; and her step-sister, Ilene Duffield.
Calling hours will held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 5-9 pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 9 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Joseph Church, Broadway at Mann Avenue, Newport, RI. Burial will follow in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown, RI.
