Henry W. Kesson, 79, of Newport, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at Newport Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of Joan (Birtwistle) Kesson.
Born in Newport, RI on May 20, 1934, he was the son of the late Henry Wadler and Geneva (Rose) Kesson.
Mr. Kesson worked for 32 years, at the Newport Daily News in as the Circulation Manager. He also served in the United States Coast Guard from 1954 to 1958.
Besides his wife of fifty seven years, he is survived by his children, Lynne Kesson Altvater and her husband Mark of Londonderry, NH and William Kesson and his wife Dawn of Newport, RI, his grandchildren, Kristen Altvater, Michelle Altvater, Jessica Kesson, Timothy Kesson and Tyler Kesson and his great granddaughter Annabelle Edmonds.
He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Baker.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, March 13, 2014, from 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
His funeral was held Friday, March 14, 2014, at 10:00am, in the funeral home, followed by burial in St. Mary's Churchyard in Portsmouth.
