Inaugural Newport 10 Mile Road Race Announced

A ten mile road race benefiting the Fort Adams Trust was launched today by Gray Matter Marketing.

NEWPORT, RI – A ten mile road race benefiting the Fort Adams Trust was launched today by Gray Matter Marketing.  Scheduled for April 28, 2013, the event will start outside the east wall of historic Fort Adams.  The course will prominently feature Newport’s scenic coastal views around the famed Ocean Drive and will pass many Bellevue Avenue mansions.  The finish line will be truly unique as participants will enter the Fort through the North Gate and finish on the parade field.

This run/walk will benefit the Fort Adams Trust, which is charged with directing and supporting the stabilization, restoration, maintenance, and operation of Fort Adams as a historic site. Fort Adams is host to many world-class events such as Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals, and the America’s Cup World Series.

“We look forward to showcasing the Fort to the New England running community.”  Said Richard Nagele, Executive Director of the Fort Adams Trust.  “This event will allow us to introduce many new people to all of the amenities and history Fort Adams has to offer.”

“We are excited to host this event in my hometown and to partner with the Fort Adams Trust,” says Matthew Gray, president of Gray Matter Marketing. “The course will showcase the ‘City by the Sea’ and allow participants to finish inside the gates of Fort Adams, a truly unique experience.” Gray Matter Marketing manages the highly successful Pell Bridge Run and brings over 6 years experience in the road race industry.
