Free Daffodil Bulbs at Farmers Market Wednesday

Newport residents can pick up their free daffodil bulbs at the Farmer's Market on Memorial Boulevard

A project to beautify the city with one million daffodils, has already distributed 79,000 bulbs for planting this fall and is planning to give even more away on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

To pick up the free daffodil bulbs, residents can go to the Farmer’s Market on Memorial Boulevard, Wednesday afternoon.

“We were overwhelmed with the response to our first giveaway,” said John Hirschboeck, Daffodillion Project Director about the give-away drive held at Easton's Beach last Saturday. “Even our reigning Miss Rhode Island, Jessica Marfeo, arrived for her free bag of bulbs,” he added.
