After Fire Destroys House, Middletown Rallies for Moniz Family

Friends of local family who suffered fire are hoping to provide some financial support.

After suffering a fire that heavily damaged their home and took the life of their beloved family dog, the Moniz family of Middletown is trying to put their lives back together.

Friends of Suzanne Moniz and her family are glad the family is safe, but they know most of the family's belongings are gone and it's an extra difficult time.

So they're trying to help. Along with prayers and friendship, they've set up a page at www.gofundme.com to raise money to give the family an extra bit of financial support.

"Suzanne never hesitated to selflessly help others in need and her great strength and faith have gotten her through difficult times before," writes Danette Jacobs Walsh, the creator of the page. "For this challenge, she needs extra support, extra prayers and our financial support.

"Let’s come together as a community to lessen their burden and bring some hope to the Moniz family. Please consider donating what you can to help Suzanne and her family rebuild and get back on their feet after their devastating losses."

If you want to donate and help meet the $5,000 goal, go here: http://www.gofundme.com/6q4lnc
