StarKids StarRide 2013
Star Kids Scholarship Program will sponsor “Star Ride”, thesecond annual family bike event on Sunday, September 15, 2013. The ride will finish and end at Cluny School,
75 Brenton Road
in Newport. There will be 4 loops from which to choose –
three Ocean Drive loops, 3, 7 and 12 miles, and a 25-mile
Indian Avenue
loop.

to register, get further details or learn how to earn a “Key to a Childs
Success”. The cost is $35 for an adult,
$15 for a child or a maximum of $75 for a family. Children under 12 are free, and children
under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
T-shirts are available for adults who register before August 28 . Ten Speed Spokes and Newport Bikes will
provide free rental bikes while supplies last, must be 16 years of age. Please contact them to directly. 10 Speed Spokes will also be at registration
to do safety checks. Helmets are
mandatory.
Earn a “Key to a Child success”. Sign up with Crowdrise and reach out to your
friends and family to support your ride.
For every $200 you raise for Star Kids you earn a KEY. There will be treasure chests with great
prizes (4 red sox tickets, restaurant certificates and more). One of your keys may be the winner. Students, rally your friends to ride with you. The top 2 teams win a pizza party.

Kathy Pratt, organizer of this year’s ride said, “The Star
Kids Scholarship Program’s mission is to provide educational opportunities to low-income, high risk
children. What better way to support the program than with a fun family bike ride. Every penny raised will go toward providing assistance to our Star Kids students for tuition,
tutoring, summer programs and all the other programs that guarantee educational success for the
students enrolled in the program.”
