Remembrance Gathering for Sally Weiffenbach, co-founder of Portsmouth Arts Guild

Sally Weiffenbach, one of the Co-Founders of the
Portsmouth Arts Guild peacefully passed away on Sunday morning, February 9th.

This Saturday there will a church service for her at 10:30 am at St. Paul's

Episcopal Church and a celebration gathering will be from 11 am till 1 pm next
door at the Portsmouth Art Guild space. Some of Sally’s artwork will be shown
in the gallery.




Saint Paul’s and the Portsmouth Arts Guild are at
the corner of Church Lane and East Main Road, 2679 E. Main Road, in Portsmouth,
Rhode Island.



Sally Ann von Weiffenbach graduated from the
University of Denver with baccalaureate degree in Elementary Education,
emphasis in Early Childhood development. She earned a Master of Arts degree
from the University of Virginia in Child Education Early Intervention with
emphasis on Art Therapy. She was certified to teach at the elementary level in
eleven different states. She taught for 36 years, was a supervisor of Primary
Education departments in Colorado, Virginia, and New Jersey. She was a principal
in two school systems. She was involved in training one hundred student
teachers. She used various forms of Art as a basis for teaching language arts, Mathematics, social skills and general enjoyment of the world.



An avid painter and ceramicist, Sally showed her
work in many Rhode Island locations.
