"Nuit Blanche: Opera Garnier" of Island Moving Company, Newport

Moving Company's Mysterious, Evocative “NUIT BLANCHE" Set                                           July 11 in
Newport

IMCs magical
trip will be to the elegant Paris Opera house, inspired by Marc Chagall's
famous ceiling painting and evoking Paris’ legendary all-night arts festival,
in Ronald Lee Fleming’s gardens at Bellevue House, 304 Bellevue Avenue, Newport

Nuit Blanche's theme this year is “Opéra Garnier,” inspired
by the glorious Paris Opera House with its colorful Marc Chagall ceiling,
featuring décor by artist/designer John Sawicki.  Newport’s resident
contemporary ballet company has invited musicians, singers, painters and other
artists to join the Company’s dancers in short performances set among the allées, follies and ornamental pools of the gardens.

Mr. Sawicki will be heard discussing his imaginative sets, inspired by such operas as "The Magic Flute" on WADK Radio on Tuesday, July 8, at 10:30 a.m.

The evening will also include a live auction emceed
by Emlen Drayton, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails and dancing for all to music by
New York's Tin Pan Band.  Tickets start at $150; all proceeds support the
education programs and collaborative creative programs of the Island Moving
