A gripping, cliffhanger document of a deadly trek up the most dangerous mountain on earth. On August 2008, twenty-four climbers from several international expeditions converged on High Camp of K2, the last stop before the summit of the most dangerous mountain on earth. Forty-eight hours later, eleven had been killed or had vanished, making it the worst K2 climbing disaster in history. Utilizing found footage, interviews with survivors, and seamlessly realistic reenactments,The Summit zigzags back and forth in time, interweaving multiple narrative threads and piecing together events, hoping to solve the mystery of what actually happened on that day—the deadliest in mountain-climbing history. The Summit pits Man against Mother Nature in her most majestic and terrifying extreme.
